Our Mission

The City of Aurora is rich in history and pride. Founded in 1834 and located in the Fox Valley in northern Illinois. What started as a modest camp has grown into a teeming city with a population of more than 197,000. Aurora is the second largest city in Illinois and was the first in the United States to use electric lights for publicly lighting the entire city, giving it the nickname “City of Lights.”
