The next Vanguard conference will be held in Newcastle, Australia, November 6 through 10, 2017.

The conference welcomes entrepreneurs, community developers, activists, artists, designers, urban planners and sustainability experts — anyone committed to improving cities. Vanguard Australia is a unique opportunity to meet the best and brightest urban thinkers and innovators from the across the world.

The conference and accommodations are free, but you must apply to attend. All participants must pay for their own travel.

How It Works

Applications for Vanguard Australia are open until August 1, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. eastern time. Anyone can apply. The only requirement is that applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to improving their city. There is a $50 application fee. Apply here. We will be selecting 25 applicants from Australia and New Zealand, and 25 applicants from the rest of the world.
