Brooklyn We Go Hard, the latest single from Jay-Z and Santogold, seems a bit outdated. Is Brooklyn hard anymore? Last I checked it was stroller-bourgie-hipster-boutique heaven? Or did I miss something?

Let me start with a confession. I decided to download the Santogold album while reading the latest copy of Bon Appetit. Santogold popped up in most Best Music of 2008 lists and this last affirmation (that Santogold makes for good dinner party music?) from my favorite cooking magazine just confirmed that I needed to get a hold of this album. Yes, I guess I do live under a rock. And yes, Santogold’s eponymous debut album is good (though better for late night dance party than eating dinner).
