Mayors, Tell Your Story: A Call for Participation at World Urban Forum 9

Are you a mayor who is passionate about the future of your city? Do you have a story to tell?

Next City is issuing a call for mayors from throughout the United States and around the world to share ideas and solutions to the challenges of 21st century urbanization. Next City will host the World Stage at World Urban Forum 9 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on February 7 to 13, 2018. Building on our successful World Stage at Habitat III in Quito, Ecuador, Next City will provide a platform for urbanists in the public, private, nonprofit and academic sectors to share expertise and examples of how they are addressing the central theme of WUF9, “Cities 2030, Cities for All: Implementing the New Urban Agenda.”

Through a generous grant from the Institute of International Education’s Global Travel and Learning Fund, Next City will provide travel stipends to a select number of mayors to participate on the World Stage in Kuala Lumpur and share their messages through our website and other platforms.

“We’re looking for mayors that have done impactful projects in their cities,” said Next City President Tom Dallessio. “We want mayors to share their lessons and inspire others to make cities better for all.”

If you are a forward-thinking mayor with demonstrated abilities and would like to participate on the World Stage, please immediately contact:
