“Hear Us” is a column series that features experts of color and their insights on issues related to the economy and racial justice. Follow us here and at #HearUs4Justice. Editor Kendra Bozarth outlined the mission for the op-ed series in, “People of Color Are Experts on America. But You Aren’t Listening.” The column is penned by a peer network of researchers, activists, practitioners and policymakers of color. This network is hosted by Liberation in a Generation, PolicyLink, and the Institute for Race and Political Economy at The New School. “Hear Us” contends that the people who develop solutions and advance systemic change should be those closest to the harm and those willing to work across intersections of issues, approaches and identity.
