Safer Cities: A Framework to Address Universal Access to Safe and Inclusive Public Spaces

UN-Habitat is partnering with the Global Urban Futures Project within the New School, New America, and Next City for a two-day event focused on creating safer and more sustainable cities.

UN-Habitat is partnering with the Global Urban Futures Project within the New School, New America, and Next City on a two-part Safer Cities event to mark the occasion of the Post 2015 Development Summit in New York. The broad focus of the event is the Sustainable Development Goals and plans for a Safer Cities Campaign in the lead up to Habitat III. The event will feature the Mayors of Johannesburg, Palermo, and Dakar, who will discuss the importance of universal access to safe public spaces in making cities safe for every citizen.

Next City President, CEO and Publisher, Tom Dallessio, will be moderating a panel discussion at this event, “Towards a Citizens-Centered Campaign on Universal Access to Safe Public Spaces for All.”

This event is free and registration is required.
