6:00pm - 8:00pm
On the eve of the Equity Summit 2018, with an estimated 4,000-plus attendees, let’s catch up first about what’s going on around the Next City universe. In addition to meeting up with Next City’s Vanguard Alumni from Chicago or coming to town for the summit, meet Next City’s new editor, Oscar Perry Abello, and share your thoughts with him on the past, present and future of Next City or the broader worlds of urban policy, planning or design.
A quick word on the location: conveniently located at the Garfield stop on the Chicago L’s Green Line, Currency Exchange Café is known as “the brainchild of Theaster Gates, community builder and one of our city’s most acclaimed contemporary artists, and is part of his broad commitment to supporting the proliferation of arts and culture on the Southside of Chicago.” Read more about Gates’ work combining urban planning and art.
A limited number of free drinks and snacks will be available, first come, first served (cash bar afterward).
