In partnership with the Sustainable Urban Planning program at The George Washington University, this webinar will cover market, policy, and tech trends focussing on how climate and political changes are driving new responses to emergencies, conflict, hurricanes, forest fires, and ocean surges. Acknowledged subject matter expert and GW Faculty Member, Professor Scott Sklar will share insights from innovative projects and initiatives spanning the globe, from Haiti to Ukraine.

Scott Sklar is an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University teaching three unique interdisciplinary courses on sustainable energy, where in 2014 he began teaching an energy course (PSUS 6224), and in 2018 his second PSUS GWU summer graduate course, “Renewable Energy for Critical Infrastructure”, the first such course in the United States. Professor Sklar is the Sustainable Energy Director of GWU’s Environment & Energy Management Institute (EEMI). He is an Affiliated Professor with CATIE, an international graduate university located in Costa Rica focused on sustainability for Latin America.
