Vanguard, an annual three-day conference hosted by Next City, will hit Cleveland, Ohio this June.
Formerly known as Next American Vanguard (hey organizational name change), the conference brings together 40 people under the age of 40 who are working to improve cities around the country. This includes folks in local government, the non-profit, social entrepreneurship, the arts and other related fields.
Does this sound like you or someone you know? Then consider applying.
Last year, Vanguard convened in St. Louis, Mo., where we did things like talk about economic development while exploring a shoe factory-turned museum. This year, the conference’s fourth, we return to the Midwest thanks to support from The George Gund Foundation, Positively Cleveland and the Downtown Cleveland Alliance.
From June 10-12, the selected applicants will descend on Cleveland for a series of presentations, workshops and tours. Throughout Vanguard we’ll talk about the issues facing Cleveland as well as those relating to cities everywhere. Check out a draft agenda of the conference here.
Applications are due by April 26, 2013. We will notify selected participants by May 1 and publically announce the official Vanguard class by May 10.
