Stories by Aaron Mayes

Aaron Mayes remembers riding in a car down Fremont Street as a child. “I have faint memories of girls dancing in second story windows,” he says. “To a five- or six-year old, Fremont Street was bright, beautiful and a bit scary.” That drive is no longer possible, as the street has been turned into a pedestrian mall and covered with a multimedia canopy, just one of many changes downtown Las Vegas has undergone during Mayes’ lifetime.
